Opal & Charlie was born from a passion for natural beauty and a desire to provide high-quality hair for Black and Brown women. Our founder recognized a need in the market for premium, natural-looking hair extensions that truly celebrate the beauty of textured hair. With a commitment to texture, quality, and authenticity, Opal & Charlie was established to offer a range of hair textures that enhance and celebrate your natural beauty.

Our Vision
Our vision is to become a leading provider of premium hair extensions that not only enhance natural beauty but also promote self-love and acceptance. We aim to challenge the status quo of the beauty industry that tells Black and Brown women to “transform their look” in order to be accepted and seen as beautiful and instead show that our natural textures and styles are already beautiful by offering products that celebrate the diversity, versatility, and cultural expression represented in textured hair.
The Inspiration For Opal & Charlie
The natural textures and styles that represent Black hair are more than beautiful; they’re an expression of freedom, individuality, and culture. Like many Black women, our natural hair journey was marked by the trauma of alopecia, heat damage, and uninformed comments from un-melanated peers.
Protective styles like weaves and wigs restored our self-confidence while allowing our natural hair to recover from years of perming and heat styling. But even then hair companies told us that we needed to transform our look in order to be beautiful and proceeded to sell us hair in styles that just didn’t look or feel natural. And then they called it luxury hair to get us to pay more. We were frustrated by the lack of high quality hair in the textures and styles that represented the Black hair experience.
But soon we found others like us and knew we weren’t alone:
